Tantra is a philosophy, said to be founded by the lumerians in the area we now call Kashmir in the 6 century.
A way of life that includes civil codes moral codes for all beings regardless of gender or sect, handed down by spoken word from teacher to student.
Tantra is the experience of divinity in all of life, not the heavens nor the hell, but the now of everyday life at this moment,
The divine is within, not separate from this experience in a human body, within every organism that exists. It is a recognition that we are all divinity, we are all one, non-dualistic.
I ask you to suspend believe system for a moment……imagine a world where we are all connected by our intrinsic divinity, everything coexisting…..imagine
What if we can have that right now, how would that look.
We all have moments of inter connectivity, …a flash of relatedness to the trees the earth, the stars, the animals, each other. And then we forget and become absorbed in our daily life
To live tantra is to be in that moment every moment with everything.
We aspire.
Central to the philosophy is the female energy, shakti. She is the driving force of all of life. She is gai, Mother Earth, her beloved is Shiva. The masculine energy, creator and destroyer. They are one and the same.
There union is the blueprint for all of life
We are all both yin and yang, our expression of that may be slanted one way or the other. But it is for us to incorporate both the feminine and the masculine within.
Tantra has been interpreted somewhat differently in the west, as a sexual tool, or cult.
Indeed there are rituals for sex in tantra. for most of us, they are beyond our grasp, however we can have an awareness of the sacred in our intimacy, in the play of lovemaking, in the joy and unity of making love.
Read the book by Daniel Odier….tantric quest.
If all of life is divinity, we can bring to our simplest task, consciousness, we can be aware, and be in the moment, in everything we do.
Nothing is excluded, our jobs, our hobbies, our busy time our downtime.
Practice appreciation of divinity within self, and extend that to others. Notice how that enriches all of life.
Invite tantra in, allow her to soak into all that you are. Be the magnificent expression of love.
